A Moreno Valley man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly attacked a driver who was sitting in his car, placed him in a headlock and tried to rob him, police said. The driver parked his car just after 1 p.m. in the 500 block of North Brand Boulevard and remained seated inside, when he suddenly heard someone running up behind him, according to Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot. Seconds later, Robert Maalea, 38, reportedly placed the driver in a headlock, she added.

Police cited a Glendale teen Tuesday after he reportedly threw a water bottle from a two-story window at a man who was cleaning up after his dog, officials said. The man was reportedly walking his dog about 12:51 a.m. in the 800 block of South Glendale Avenue, where the animal defecated on a nearby lawn, according to Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot. As he picked up his dog's feces, he noticed the teen opened an apartment window and then threw a plastic water bottle at him, police said.

Colorado Street and the Glendale (2) Freeway A 46-year-old man was arrested Oct. 18 on an outstanding warrant for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

North Central Avenue and West Wilson Avenue Annette Hernandez, 29, was arrested Feb. 12 on an outstanding warrant driving on a suspended or revoked license.

The chief of staff for a Los Angeles Unified School District board member was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after leaving the gym in Glendale this morning. Sarah Bradshaw, 47, who is the chief of staff for Los Angeles Unified school board member Bennett Kayser, was taken into custody about 1:55 a.m. on Maryland and Wilson avenues after police stopped her for an undisclosed traffic violation, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. Officers seized a small plastic bag containing marijuana inside Bradshaw's vehicle, Lorenz said.

A former Tournament of Roses director was arrested Wednesday for the 2004 murder of a San Gabriel woman whose body was discovered in the trunk of her own car. Allen Munnecke, 71, of Alhambra, was arrested at his Alhambra home Wednesday by Los Angeles County Sheriff's detectives who allege he was involved in the slaying of Donna Lee Kelly. Kelly, who was romantically involved with Munnecke, according to the sheriff's department, was reported misssing by her daughter on April 4, 2004 Nearly two weeks later her daughter was driving in Eaton Canyon County Park in Pasadena when she opened the trunk to investigate a foul odor.

Police discovered a potentially-explosive lab used to extract hash oil on Saturday inside the garage of a north Glendale home. Detectives seized roughly 40 pounds of marijuana, approximately 181 cans of butane, three large tubes used for extraction and about 2 ounces of “butane honey oil” inside Andrew Hedenberg's detached garage in the 800 block of North Glendale Avenue, police said. “The potential for explosion is huge,” Glendale Police Sgt. Toby Darby said. “These things are blowing up all over the place.” Detectives discovered the lab after police said he reported that his girlfriend allegedly assaulted him. Hedenberg, 22, of Glendale was taken into custody on suspicion of manufacturing the “butane honey oil” - a highly-potent marijuana extract - as well as selling other potent drugs, including hallucinogenic mushrooms, LSD and methamphetamine, Darby said.

A man police say was driving in Northridge on Wednesday with a pipe bomb between his feet on the floorboard was arrested on suspicion of recklessly possessing a destructive device. After David Patton, 55, was pulled over near Devonshire Street and Reseda Boulevard for allegedly driving erratically, police reported finding burglary tools inside the SUV, the Los Angeles Times reported . They also said he appeared to be "a little bit under the influence of narcotics," said LAPD Capt.

A 53-year-old male transient from Santa Monica was arrested Thursday and booked under suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of a woman on a busy street in Glendale, police said. Michael Caudill is being held on $1 million bail, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. The woman, who hasn't been identified by police, suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to her upper torso and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, he said. Police received numerous 911 calls from witnesses about the stabbing just before 10:30 a.m. at San Fernando Road and Pacific Avenue.

A 53-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he was allegedly seen inappropriately touching himself on a downtown Glendale street, police said. Julian Garcia was taken into custody about 2:39 p.m. on suspicion of indecent exposure after officers spotted him adjusting his pants in front of an office in the 200 block of North Orange Avenue, according to Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot. Moments before, employees told police Garcia had laid down in front of the office and begun to masturbate, she added.

A Glendale man was arrested Friday night after he allegedly started and quickly put out a small blaze, which a police helicopter spotted on a fire road east of the 2 Freeway, officials said. The 42-year-old man, who was identified as Edvart Ratavos, was taken into custody on suspicion of recklessly starting a fire about 6:20 p.m. near the 3700 block of Valley Vista Drive, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. He reportedly went for a walk on the fire road, where he found a pine cone and decided to light it on fire with matches, police said.

A 32-year-old Glendale man was arrested Tuesday night after detectives found about three dozen marijuana plants inside his father's garage, police said. Mikheil Mirzoyan was taken into custody on suspicion of cultivating marijuana inside the garage in the 500 block of East Maple Street, according to Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot. Detectives from the Glendale Police Department's Narcotics Detail received an anonymous tip about the drug grow and visited the garage about 5 p.m., she said.

Three men were arrested this week after police reportedly linked counterfeit credit cards found inside their vehicle in Glendale to card-skimming devices placed at gas station pumps in Coronado, officials said. The Southern California men - George Felix, 24, Diego Mendez, 25, and Ismael Benitez, 29, - were taken into custody about 4:15 p.m. Monday after officers stopped them at Colorado Street and Pacific Avenue for parking in a handicapped zone without a placard, according to Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.
