Hamlet Nalbandyan GLENDALE -- The fans are not cheering his name anymore, and the opposition is not basing its defensive game plan around him, but Kenny Pritchett is OK with that. The former Crescenta Valley High running back is living a dream everyday by putting on the UCLA helmet and jersey, and for now, he is content by waiting his turn. "I'm going to one of the best schools out there," says the 20-year-old sociology major. "So many kids only dream of coming here, and I'm doing it. "I have to keep trying and work hard, and I'm sure my time will come.

In a puzzling move, none of the 14 WNBA franchises selected Greco in the three-round draft, during which 42 players were chosen, 19 of them guards. The price tag for renovations at the Rose Bowl continues to balloon, with officials adding $6 million last week to a construction contract for the already well-over-budget project. The money is needed to cover repairs for botched upgrades installed ahead of the 1994 World Cup games and increased labor costs incurred in the rush to finish seating upgrades before UCLA's football home opener on Sept. 8, officials said. Originally expected to cost $152 million, the project is now budgeted at about $170 million - excluding $14 million in work that has already been deferred because of cost concerns.
