The following information was taken from police reports: 200 block of North Maryland Avenue: A 33-year-old Perris man reported Thursday that his diabetic kit and tan jacket, worth a combined $450, were stolen from his 1995 Acura Integra. Foothill (210) Freeway and Pennsylvania Avenue: A 45-year-old La Crescenta man reported that tools and walkie-talkies, worth a combined $450, were stolen from his 1996 Chevy Astro. 1300 block of Greenbriar Road: A 33-year-old Glendale woman was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possessing a dangerous weapon after officers found a baton in her 2000 Mercedes-Benz.

Kudos on approving Central condo project I just wanted to say thank you to the Glendale City Council for approving the mixed-use condominium project at the corner of Central Avenue and California Street this week. Until recently, I lived in the 300 block of West California Street. One of the great things about living there was the proximity to Brand Boulevard, the Alex Theatre, numerous restaurants and the Galleria -- making it easy to take a leisurely stroll to reach these destinations.

Man arrested for allegedly having knife NORTHEAST GLENDALE -- A Glendale man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife after he allegedly gave a Glendale Police patrol officer the middle finger and drove away, exceeding the speed limit by about 20 mph, police said. Oganes Mkrtchyan, 36, was driving past the officer at about 3:15 p.m. Monday on Wilson Avenue when he yelled expletives at an officer and sped away, driving about 45 mph in a 25 mph residential area, police said.
