SPORT Football SCHOOL CV YEAR Senior THIS SEASON Is third in the area in passing yards (735) and is fourth in rushing (431). Has 12 TDs LAST WEEK AT A GLANCE Salazar passed for 151 yards, rushed for 129 yards and recorded three touchdowns in the Falcons' 35-21 setback against visiting Burroughs on Friday. He helped CV build a 21-0 lead at the beginning of the second quarter before the Indians came back. Vaquero women and men place in top six The Glendale Community College men's and women's cross-country teams each finished in the top six in Saturday's California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Cross-Country Championships. Paced by sophomore Pilar Delgado and freshman Itzel Vargas, the Vaquero women took the fifth spot, earning 134 points (97 minutes 24 seconds) on the 5,000-meter course at Woodward Park in Fresno. Delgado concluded her two-year career at GCC by clocking 18:28 to finish in fourth.

Erik Boal FRESNO -- Hoover High distance runner Anita Siraki continued her dominant senior season by winning the Division I girls' individual title at the California Interscholastic Federation-State Cross-Country Championships Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno. The title was the second straight at the state meet for Siraki, who also won the individual crown in 1999 after finishing fourth her sophomore year. The 17-year-old covered the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes 59 seconds, the third-fastest time ever recorded on the Woodward Park course.
